Garden Sketch Ideas

INITIAL CONSULTATION

To enable the design to unfold we will need to discuss and identify your initial thoughts.

Below is a small example of questions required to produce a working brief:

  • Do you want to entertain, relax, play sports?

  • What style do you prefer: modern, traditional, minimal, cottage?

  • How much time will you spend maintaining the garden?

  • Where do the bins live?

The end can seem endless but necessary to ensure you get the garden of your dreams.

SITE SURVEY

To be able to progress the design, a thorough site survey will need to be carried out which includes measurements, levels, constraints, orientation, soil conditions, manholes.

Simple garden surveys can be carried out by myself, complex and large spaces will need to be carried out by a professional land/topography surveyor.

SKETCH IDEAS

Once a brief has been established, the first sketches are produced for discussion.

DESIGN

When we have agreed on the draft sketch, a final drawing will be produced with supporting images to bring together the final proposals.

PLANTING PLAN

Following on from the design, planting plans can be produced at an additional cost. The planting plan shows the plant species (Latin names), locations, numbers, and sizes of plants in order for the plants to be ordered and correctly spaced on site.

CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS

Some designs may require construction details to ensure landscape contractors/builders can construct to the required design specification and this can be included at an additional cost.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

During installation I can offer support to ensure smooth coordination of the project and assist with detailing as required.  This would ensure the installation is carried out to an approved standard and the design proposals are achieved, again this would be additional.

AFTER CARE SUPERVISION

I can offer ongoing support after your garden is complete to ensure it is looking its best.
